Collegium is a center for education, research and experimentation of contemporary art, promoted by the Lumbreras Foundation and the Adrastus Collection. Located in the city of Arévalo, this community of Castilla y León is a region marked by the historical intersections between Muslim, Christian and Jewish cultures. The architectural project, led by the Mexican studio of Tatiana Bilbao, is located next to a Jesuit complex constructed during the 16th and 17th centuries.

Open for Works is a series of activities comprising Collegium’s first projects, articulated from the dialectic between the artistic production of the 21st century and the local community. The church of San Martín will serve as the initial venue, hosting the first exhibitions.

This publication presents an introduction to the identity, values and differentiators of the museographical project, and a selection of eight artistic installations which are part of the Adrastus Collection, highlighting the creative proposals by Dahn Vo, Opavivará, Roman Ondak, Jonathas De Andrade, Jennifer Allora & Guillermo Calzadilla, Walid Raad and Ed Atkins.

Published and edited by The Lumbreras Foundation and the Adrastus Collection in collaboration with the City Council of Arévalo, this publication was part of the official presentation of Collegium in the Church of San Martín, which opened in the summer of 2020.
