Video Art in Movement – VEM

19.07.2023
Videoarte en Movimiento Festival (VEM)
Plaza de la Villa, 10 PM

VEM - Videoarte en Movimiento (Video Art in Motion) is an itinerant experience of audiovisual creation in transitional and passing environments, organized by DuplaCena with the support of Plataforma de Imagen en Movimiento PROYECTOR. In the month of July, a van travels between Madrid and Lisbon exhibiting a program composed of works by national and international video artists. Along the way, it stops at museums and art centers in small and medium-sized cities to offer an event that seeks to bring video art to unusual spaces and wider audiences.

In its third edition, Collegium will be one of the venues of this festival, hosting in the Plaza de la Villa de Arévalo around an hour of video projections united by the theme of displacement and travel. It is an open and free activity, in summer cinema format, which will offer a selection of eleven videos designed with the aim of being accessible and interesting for all audiences.

The screenings of this session also tie in with our exhibition program by including a video by Cinthia Marcelle, an artist from the Collegium's permanent collection whose work was exhibited between October 2022 and February 2023 in The Collection: Dialogues. Volume 1: History between persistence and critique.

Artists: Cinthia Marcelle, Rubén Martín de Lucas, Maxime Martinot, Magda Gebhardt, Genazdi Buto, Gary Hill, Christina Schultz, Zbigniev Rybczynski, Kit Fitzgerald, John Sanborn and David Van Tieghem.
